Overview

From 1937 Ireland to petty theft as a teenager in London, Sydney Gottfried grew into a high-life of internatial double-dealing. Owner of a casino and nightclub, his many scams involve fake scotch, violent Soho hookers, counterfeit money, mobsters, diamonds, Swiss banks and the American public. Born 1949 of Greek Cypriot father and Czech mother. Lived and went to school in Poplar, in the east end of London. Studied law at Manchester University (graduated 1970) and qualified as a solicitor in 1974. Established a West End law firm in 1978 and since then has been involved in commercial law, international work and taxation. Interests in environmental matters led him to found Genersys plc a solar energy company. Married with two sons.
