Troupe attended Robert Morris University, where he played hockey and first connected with the Pittsburgh region, now his long-term home with his wife Kristen. After graduating, he began working for the Pennsylvania State Senate-an experience he credits for providing plenty of real-world intrigue that informs his storytelling.
