Honored as one of Diabetes Forecast's ""People to Know,"" Courtney Duckworth is Boston Marathon competitor, professional cheerleader, and medical student with type 1 diabetes. She is the founder of the Every Step Counts Scholarship Program and has spoken at the Wall Street Journal Health Forum, TypeOneNation Research Summit, Children With Diabetes' Friends for Life Conference, and Camp Possibilities. Courtney graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the College of William and Mary in 2015 before becoming a clinical research fellow at the National Institutes of Health. She is now a medical student at the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
