Lilla grew up on a beautiful sheep farm in the far north of NZ, enjoying all the wonderful experiences and freedom of the great outdoors. Apart from having the love of writing, she has dabbled in artistic painting, completing portraits for family and friends. Lilla's penchant for rhyme started in her younger years. `...in my teenage years I wrote limericks in birthday cards for friends and family, which is probably why I progressed to children's rhyming stories,` she recalls. The author has three adult children, Lauren, Nick and Katharine, and two gorgeous grandchildren.
