OverviewThis text presents a newly-recognized sydrome which commonly occurs in athletes and participants in sports at all levels. Although the symptoms are familiar to those working in the field they are often treated independently and their collective cause goes unrecognised. This text presents the evidence for looking at the group of symptoms involved and treating them as a single syndrome with a single cause - biomechanical malignment. Recognition of the cause among sports trainer and physios should also help them to give appropriate training and treatment to correct the malalignment and so prevent the occurrence of the syndrome.
