OverviewThe bereaved Sumerian mother, whose first born was snatched away by death, her son the shepherd, Dumuzi. In her sorrow summoned the mothers, to lament the departed. With her magical wand, the eerie words, she creates a substitute, a lament, an eerie substitute, an immortal one, a substitute, for the mortal body. The mother, through her magical wand, the eerie words, becomes inadvertently a magician, a creator. Her immortal lament befools the grip of death-Thanatos, the gate keeper. Gilgamesh, king of Uruk, realizes there is no escape form death-Thanatos, the gate keeper, wishes to create for himself with his magical wand, the eerie words, an immortal name, which will evade Thanatos-death, the gate keeper. For this end he has to prove himself on the battle field. Gilgamesh inadvertently becomes a magician, a creator of an immortal epos, with help of the bard, the magician of words. The Sumerian genius invented writing, in order to endow their eerie creations of words, substance. This eerie created world usurped the tangible one. The Sirens of Chaos engulfed this eerie world. The Sumerians were forgotten, only the imprinted tablets, with their divine creations, survived, were rediscovered by archeology. After catastrophes the magician resurrects the world, with his magical wand, and captures it with his eerie words. But the Sirens of chaos lure him to transform words into power, destructive power. Faust lured by the Sirens of chaos, unsatisfied by an eerie world of words, which does not grant him unlimited youth, unlimited love. Faust decides to discard the Word for the benefit of Power, Action. With this acquisition Faust runs amok destroying the world. The resurrected Magician has to conjure a new eerie world of words, the only one at his disposal. Through a dialogue with ancient and classic texts, the Philosopher, Rivka Schechter, reflects on mankind's coping with life, death, power, and loss through words, those magical and eerie tools that make us human.
