Overview

"These tales are delightful-- moving, innocent, lovely, hilarious, beautiful and strange. They are linguistically melodious. They are not fairy tales, nor are they allegories, exactly--but they are metaphors for our lives. The ""Tragedy of X"" and ""The Midnight Bell"" contain elements of our worst nightmares, yet help us see what truths often lie beneath the commonplace facades of daily life. ""The Magic Detective"" lures us all into ""finding what is stolen or hiding or missing"" although ""we don't want to go there, just yet."" ""The Room With A Door"" finds our loneliest and yet most healing places. ""The Window As Clear As Day"" reminds us of all the world's foolishness and false virtue. ""The Last Telephone"" is a ribald description of someone we all know who is too busy for everyone. These ""Realities,"" while a little insane, describe moments in our lives with which we can all identify, laugh about and acknowledge without too much pain."
