The author's style of writing in The M. Goose Chronicles: There He Kept Her Very Well was beautiful to read. Very witty and delightfully droll in a way that is done so cleverly and seamlessly that it does not seem forced or contrived. Also, the writing was timeless and classic in a way that you rarely see middle-grade books written nowadays. It was great fun, particularly as a children's book lover, to pull apart the connections to the nursery rhymes, even those that were almost inconspicuously incorporated. The great thing is that for the readers who get it, and saw those links, it's very amusing.
