"This title presents painted journey of coping with bereavement through art therapy. After 47 years of marriage, Mary Challenger was confronted with the sudden death of her husband, Cliff. People find many different ways to cope with the devastating loss of a partner, but Mary found it almost impossible to discuss her grief and sought help from her GP. When he discovered that she was a talented artist, he suggested she should try to produce drawings and other artwork to explore her feelings of bereavement. Author Information

Mary Challenger was born and brought up in Blaenavon, Gwent. Awarded a scholarship to Newport School of Art, she specialised in book illustration and gained a National Diploma in Design. She later trained as a teacher in London and taught art at two secondary schools before marrying and having two children. Returning to her career as a supply teacher, she then taught at a primary school before retiring. She lives in Blaenavon.
