OverviewThe logic of discovery is nothing but the conceptualization of the rationality of scientific inquiry; yet each of the major logics of discovery - inductivism, hypothetico-deductivism, and retroductionism - has failed to conceptualize it. The author argues that the interrogative approach to scientific inquiry is one of the most promising alternatives, and he formulates a unique interrogative model which conceptualizes the rationality of scientific inquiry. Table of ContentsReviews'The Logic of Discovery:An Interrogative Approach to Scientific Inquiry' is a significant contribution to an important topic that has been neglected by philosophers. It includes a thorough and useful survey of the recent literature on scientific discovery, original contributions to the methodology of questioning in science and a well documented case study concerning the search for an explanation of dinosaur extinction. It should not be overlooked by anyone interested in the methods of scientific research. (Scott A.
