Author Information

Yazgul Myratnazarova is a Turkmenistan-born children's author with a passion for early education. She began her career as an elementary school teacher before moving to the U.S. where she raised her children. The inspiring minds of young children, especially preschoolers, led her to write her own stories. Her debut children's book, The Little Tree, was inspired by her son's battle with brain cancer. Through her writing, Yazgul hopes to encourage resilience in children, enabling them to overcome adversities and reach their full potential. Navoda Wickramatunga is a child art prodigy, recognized for her distinct storytelling style in illustrations. Her work, inspired by abstract forms and folklore, has been exhibited at the Tate Modern Art Gallery in London. Navoda has expanded her artistic reach through designing for science publications and teaching young artists. The Little Tree marks her debut in children's book illustration, where she conveys a story of resilience and nature's strength through her expressive use of acrylic paint and colored pencil.
