Reviews

The story follows the journey of a small Mustard Seed that is planted in a spot that will allow it to grow and become a 'Grand Mustard Tree.' The story follows the process the Gardener goes through in order to tend to that little mustard seed, the thoughts and feelings of the Mustard Seed as it grows and how the surrounding nature helps the little guy to grow into something grand. The story is beautifully written with loving dialogue and delightful descriptions. There are numerous themes that are touched upon, including love, nourishment, growth, patience and friendship. From a Christian perspective, this book is inspirational for all; relating to our internal growth, potential, and our relationship with our Heavenly Father as children of God. With faith, community, and love, we can connect with our Lord more and more. The illustrations are lovely. Summer Moore is a talented illustrator whose soft, watercolour images are a joy to look at. They are inviting and create a sense of calm, making this a fantastic family bedtime story for all who read it, just as it has been for the author and her family. 'The Little Mustard Seed' is a story for all to enjoy with important messages. I would highly recommend this heartwarming, encouraging and relatable story. It would be an ideal gift for children starting school or anyone who is taking a step in a new direction in their lives. What a way to start our 2024 reading! What an inspirational little book! ** I can't help but sing the song 'From little things, big things grow' as I write this! - Melanie Hunter (book reviewer) @melaniehunterbooks
