He was born in Touraine, studied plastic arts, and began his career working as a web graphics artist upon graduation in 1999. He has published several comic books since 2002, either as a writer or as writer/artist. His first book was 'Thomas, ou le Retour du Tabou' at Les Humanoides Associes. which earned him the Goscinny Prize for best young comics writer. He then wrote 'Le Stereo Club', a comic series about music fans, for artist Rudy Spiessert at Dargaud (2004-2006). Bourhis is best-known as the author of several informative comics documentaries for ditions Dargaud. Herve Bourhis received the Prix Jacques Lob for his entire body of work in 2010.
