Overview

As a celebrity assistant, Stevie Young guards the lies, scandals, and personal drama of the famous elite. Maintaining discretion is just part of her job description. When she begins working for renowned celebrity couple Dean Bennington and Lana Lim, Stevie feels like she has hit the jackpot. Both stars are prolific and refreshingly unpretentious, not to mention the objects of public obsession. When Lana suffers a mysterious injury, the incident calls into question everything Stevie previously thought. Lana's accident sets an explosive chain of events into motion. The following weeks reveal a life shrouded in deception with a perilous web of deceit at its core. As Stevie falls even deeper into Dean and Lana's orbit, she begins to realize that nothing is what it seems. The closer Stevie gets to the pair, the less she knows what--and who--to believe. As the investigation continues, Stevie will stop at nothing to sift through the lies, uncover the real story, and bring the shocking truth to light.

Author Information

Danielle M. Wong is a travel-obsessed author of psychological thrillers. She pens the type of stories that keep her up at night, featuring gripping scenes, complex characters, and twist-filled plots. She has been published to critical acclaim, earning Independent Press, Reader's Favorite, and International Book Awards, among others. Danielle's writing has been featured in Harper's Bazaar, HuffPost, PopSugar, and Writer's Digest. She is currently working on her next novel. Rita Amparita is a bilingual Asian American voice actor who is available for both union and non-union work, with an ADR-ready broadcast-quality remote studio. Born in the US but raised in Jakarta-with a brief stint in France-she's used to adapting quickly to different faces and spaces. She brings that quality to various stories and roles she is introduced to. But her favorite part is the art of collaboration in bringing new narratives to life through vocal performances. Since starting her voice acting journey in 2022, she's been fortunate enough to be cast in SMITE as Hellfury Mulan, the hit video game Bomb Rush Cyberfunk as Team Eclipse, and even cast as the official voice of NBC Universal's AANHPI month in 2024. She decided to move her career further along with a life-changing move to Los Angeles, California, in early 2025. Since then, not only has she been actively working in the video game industry, with roles in Path to Nowhere and AFK Journey but also narrating audiobooks consistently. She was admitted into the MacMillan New Narrators program in late 2024, and just recently completed her first narration project with them. Fun facts about Rita: - She listens to classical music to work and podcasts to sleep (it's white noise she can drown out) - She has three cats that moved cross country with her (would not recommend piling cats into a car for four days) - Nearly all the anime tattoos she's gotten in the last three years (there are seven), she's gotten while traveling the country for work or play - Firmly believes being overdressed is always better than being underdressed - Reads poetry pretty regularly on her TikTok
