Overview

The Lightning Tree is a fantasy adventure suitable for 8 to 12-year-olds. Sam's grandfather gives her a mysterious purple seed from Fiji and she plants it in his magical garden. Within hours, the Lightning Tree has grown and the adventures begin. Friendly foxes in the garden, tools with magic powers, time standing still, mysterious messages carved into the trees, and even a bit of time travel become part of Sam's world and help her find hope and happiness again. The Lightning Tree has healing powers and ability to grant wishes, so it's not surprising that other people are trying to get hold of it. Sam must guard the Lightning Tree's secret very carefully.In an adrenaline-fuelled chase at the end, Sam and her brother get the surprise of their lives when they have to escape from two dangerous criminals via a tunnel under the River Forth.
