OverviewI, Andy Salzer, was born in 1936, the second oldest of Al and Clara Salzer's twelve children. At the time, my folks farmed near the community of Watkins, Minnesota, south of Cold Spring and a short drive down Hiway 23 from St. Cloud. In my early years, the family farmed all across central Minnesota finally settling near Cold Spring where I graduated high school. On my eighteenth birthday, I walked into the local recruiting station and joined the USAF. For the next twenty-two years I bounced around from base to base, country to country, including a tour in Vietnam. After the Air Force, Raychel and I raised our eight kids and fostered thirty-three other great kids, ran a hardware store, and was active members in our local Catholic Church. Raychel passed away after thirty-three years of marriage. It was my love of Polka dancing that led me to find Harriet. We were married in 2004 and have been enjoying traveling together ever since. She and I spent our time together hosting campgrounds during the summers and dancing the Polka during the winters.
