Author Information

Who was Albert Fua? Albert Fua was a noted early Jewish supporter of the Young Turk Movement from Salonika. Fua later settled in Paris and kept contact with other Ottoman liberals who supported the concept of a constitutional monarchy. His birth and death dates are currently unknown. He used the pseudonym Un ami de la Turquie. Zivot i moral Muhamedov was translated from his French text La Vie et la Morale de Mahomet (Paris, 1915). That text was originally published as La Vie et la Morale de Mahomet in the Young Turk Committee of Union and Progress (CUP) French language journal Mecheroutiette No. 34 Pages 49-60 and No. 35 Pages 56-61. Albert Fua's 24 page Zivot i moral Muhamedov was a popular work and had at least two editions published by the Zagreb based Hrvatska Muslimanska Knjiznica as No. 19 in the Hrvatska Muslimanska Knjiznica library by 1942. It was previously published by the Mostar based Prva Muslimanska Nakladna Stamparija in 1928. This is a brief biography of the Prophet Muhammad that was originally written in French and translated to Bosnian by Salih Bakamovic.
