Vernon Ahmadjian was a distinguished professor at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. He specialized in the symbiosis of lichens, and wrote several books and numerous publications on the subject. Ahmadjian was born on May 19, 1930 in Whitinsville, Massachusetts.
