Overview

A letter left by her dying mother reveals to Ria the existence of a hitherto unknown family. Following the funeral a grief-stricken Ria travels to country New South Wales to meet this new family and walks into an existence that she had never dreamed of. A capable aunt who looks so like her mother, and Ben, an engaging cousin who reacquaints her with the joys of horse riding. The surroundings an amazing historical mansion on an extensive sheep property. Ria feels like she is in heaven where life is perfect. Then it all comes crashing down as family secrets are revealed one by one. But not before she meets a certain sheep farmer who lives on the adjoining property. That budding romance is also destined for failure. Can Ria save the romance or come to find a place for herself in this fractured family? And why did her mother run away from her family in the first place? As she comes to realise families can be complicated.

I have always loved telling stories but as a mother, a practising lawyer and counsellor I never had any time to write. A move to Tasmania gave me the opportunity to start a new career as an author.My husband and I (as well as dogs, cats, chooks, cows and horses) live on a historic property in rural Tasmania. I draw on my farming background and legal and counselling experience for inspiration.
