Melissa VanAllen has dreamed of becoming a children's author since writing stories in kindergarten, finding inspiration in the magically nostalgic feeling of reading her favorite classic picture books. Melissa is a rabbit ethologist, educator, shelter volunteer and lifelong musician. She lives in Pennsylvania with her bunnies Pika, Touka, Mopsy, Muzzy, Meeko, Pluto, Pocky and Lamb Chop. Nikki Smits is an illustrator from Gouda, The Netherlands. She has been drawing ever since she could pick up a pencil. Influenced by fairytales, nature and Japan, she likes to create imaginary worlds with animals, giants, tiny things and cute characters.
