The book of all books on WTO dispute settlement issues. Ambassador Julio Lacarte Muro of Uruguay, former Member and Chairman (1996-1997) of the WTO Appellate Body. An epic tome! Practitioners will find all they need to know about the details of WTO dispute settlement. No one knows more about this important topic than Peter Van den Bossche. James Bacchus, Chairman of the Global Trade Practice Group of Greenberg Traurig, Washington DC, USA and former Member and Chairman (2002-2003) of the WTO Appellate Body. An outstanding publication which sets out the core legal rules and policy of the World Trade Organization in a uniquely comprehensive and straightforward manner - a must for anyone versed or simply interested in WTO. Gabrielle Marceau, Counsellor, Cabinet of the WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Geneva, Switzerland Prof. Van den Bossche's textbook is an ideal introduction to the World Trade Organization legal system. It focuses the reader on the main issues without shying away from the complexities. It is both thorough and clear and explains the legal principles while drawing out the underlying policies. In short, it is a masterful work. Prof.dr. Marco Bronckers, Partner, WilmerHale, Brussels, Belgium and Professor of WTO and EU International Trade Law, University of Leiden, The Netherlands. This opus magnum is clearly impressive and represents a tremendous amount of work which will make it extremely useful! Prof.dr. Claus-Dieter Ehlermann, Senior Counsel, Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, Brussels, Belgium. Former Member and Chairman (2001) of the WTO Appellate Body and former Director-General (1977-1995)at the European Commission. This will, I believe, be the standard text in its field. Justice Florentino Feliciano, Senior Counsel, SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan, Manila; former Member and Chairman of the WTO Appellate Body; former Senior Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines Wonderfully written, clear, and thoughtful. Joanne Scott, Visiting Professor, Harvard Law School 'An epic tome! Practitioners will find all they need to know about the details of WTO dispute settlement.
