OverviewMonster hunters Wade and Bryan travel to Wade's hometown to investigate a series of murders. Once there, Wade reconnects with his childhood friends Larry and Emma while he and Bryan continue to investigate the cause of the murders. In Larry's barn, they come face-to-face with the monster, a Lovecraftian-inspired terror, and narrowly escape with their lives. After regrouping, Wade and Bryan track the monster into the remains of the town's old mine, encountering Larry in the process. The ground gives way, and Wade, Larry, and Bryan find themselves in the mine, unarmed, with the monster, who pursues them. Wade and Larry escape the mine, while Bryan discovers the remnants of two bodies. Back at Larry and Emma's house, Bryan reveals that the monsters have taken the form of Emma and Larry and have been killing townspeople. Wade kills the shapeshifters, and Bryan and Wade raze the house before returning to their laundromat in the city. Once there, Wade goes home, and Bryan is kidnapped and stuffed into a van, which goes driving out into the night.
