The master is back and in The Last Trial Scott Turow takes it to another level . . . A writer with few peers -- David Baldacci, Number One Bestselling Author I remember when Presumed Innocent rocked the publishing world... I was a newly minted lawyer at the time and devoured the book in less than a day. Since then Scott Turow has cemented his status not just as a superb writer of legal thrillers but as a writer of enviable skill in any genre. Well, the master is back and in The Last Trial he takes it to another level. The story has all the elements of a first class legal thriller... A grandfather now, Turow writers about generations of life in a way that demonstrates his ability to perceive desperation, sadness, exhilaration, triumph, grief, the inevitable march of time, a life wasted or fulfilled, or both, literally the vast sum of human experience in a way that few writers can. Indeed, it is more real than real at times, and I mean that as a well-deserved compliment to a writer with few peers -- David Baldacci Turow does legal thrillers better than anyone else * Irish Independent * Turow will keep you guessing until the very, very end * Daily Express * A consummate storyteller * Independent * Scott Turow has consistently out-Grishamed * Sunday Telegraph * This is a guy who knows what he's doing * USA Today * Turow keeps the suspense ratcheted up * Mail on Sunday * The thrill of any good Turow novel is that heart-stopping instant when you realize you've been piecing together the wrong puzzle * Entertainment Weekly * A leading practitioner of the legal thriller * Financial Times * Turow blows even Grisham out of the water * Daily Mirror * Pioneered the modern legal thriller * Daily Telegraph * Turow is worthy to be ranked with Dashiell Hammett or Raymond Chandler * New York Times * Nobody writes courtroom drama the way he does * Daily Mail * Grisham might do it more often, but Turow does it so much better * Observer *

The novel's greatest strength, however, is its poignant depiction of the emotional toll of the case, as Stern is forced to reconsider the nature of his friendship, his legacy and his mortality. * The Times * Grisham might do it more often, but Turow does it so much better * Observer *
