The last song of Time

Overview

In a world where half the landmass is always illuminated by the great light, an eclipse threatens to shatter the balance between the two halves of the world. The darkness and the creatures that dwell within it will invade the illuminated lands inhabited by humans. The story focuses on six different narrators, each destined to take their own path to face this calamity. The events narrated revolve around different groups of people and different places: in the village of Bordest, some are torn between defending their home and those who believe it is better to seek refuge in Luceria, the great city at the center of this corner of the world, the only city with stone walls that could therefore protect even the largest and most dangerous creatures. On the other side of the illuminated lands, a wise old shaman seems to have already foreseen everything, and so he moves with a small army of men towards Bordest, where, according to his prediction, something capable of endangering all of humanity will arrive. The various narrators take turns during this darkness, whose beginning is marked by the last song of a bird, called Time, which marks the rhythm of life for all of them. The light will shine again, but when that happens, the world it illuminates will have changed forever.
