The Last London Parlour

Overview

An unsettled Nigerian doctor Benjamin immigrated to the United Kingdom in search of the mythical Golden Fleece but found himself embroiled in a complex web of terrorism, illegal immigration and the underworld. Faced early with unforeseen challenges, he ran out his six-month visa. On the eve of his returning back to Nigeria, the 7/7 terrorists' attacks on London's transport system occurred, pushing him into further immigration quagmire. Benjamin later picked up a cleaning job, using forged documents. He was sacked some months later and was facing dire financial stress. Olisch, an Albanian friend and former coworker that seemed to have more money than he could account for, came to his rescue. Olisch later introduced Benjamin to his main business, which involved women trafficking, forced labor and prostitution. Benjamin was recruited to carry out backstreet abortions for the gang's vice-women in a covert theatre known as the 'Opera' hidden inside an exclusive London massage parlor. However, Benjamin got on the wrong side of the Albanian gang after he was forced to terminate the pregnancy of a beautiful but mysterious woman. He quitted the Parlor job and instead took up a lesser paying job as a healthcare assistant in an NHS hospital. But the massage parlor got busted and the clandestine clinic was discovered. With most of the gangsters arrested, a massive hunt for the doctors manning the Opera went underway. Knowing he was the recent and probably the only one left in the country, Benjamin was once again thrown into a nightmare as he became the most wanted man in Britain but he managed to escape discovery as the search petered out. He continued his work as a healthcare assistant but was arrested during a routine immigration raid. Events took another downward dive when he was discovered through his fingerprints to be the elusive 'most wanted' medical doctor Britain had spent thousands of pounds looking for. He was charged to court. With the odds stacked against him, Olisch once again came to his rescue in a rare display of friendship and loyalty.
