He is a Visiting Professor at Politecnico di Milano and City of Vienna Visiting Professor 2017 (SKuOR) for urban culture, public space and the future – urban equity and the global agenda. Ed studied landscape architecture in Manchester (MMU), urban design in New York (CUNY) and is a PhD candidate on the Cities Programme (LSE). He became a chartered landscape architect (CMLI) in 2001. He has written widely, and in 2016 he founded Testing-Ground Journal with Alex Malaescu. In 2009, Ed co-authored, with Tim Waterman, Basics Landscape Architecture: Urban Design, and in 2017 they co-edited Landscape and Agency. Ed has lectured at the University of Guadalajara, Central St. Martins, Kingston University and Alcala School of Architecture and has been a design critic at Columbia University, City College New York, the Architecture Association and the Bartlett. In 2007 he founded Project Studio. Award winning projects have been published and exhibited widely, including at: Architecture Foundation and Royal Academy, Biennale of Landscape Urbanism, London Festival of Architecture and the Van Alen Institute.
