Young Andrea ""Andi"" Grissom, daughter and only child of a Wyoming cattle baron, strives to prove herself to be as good as any man when it comes to actually working a ranch. With flaming red hair and jade green eyes, and a fiery temper to match, she shuns the attention of any would-be suiter, stating she simply has no time for romantic notions. Helping her father run the Swinging G is her only concern. Tom Price, ex-Calvary guide, found himself a home on a small west Texas ranch, the Rocking K. An excellent horseman, the furthest thing from Tom's mind is a woman. When Dodge Grissom buys a small herd of Texas Longhorns, with a dream of crossbreeding and creating a hardier herd able to better endure the harsh Wyoming winters, Andrea stops at nothing to persuade her father to let her go along on the drive. Young Tom Price is hired as a temporary guide for the drive. Neither realizes that not only will each be forced to rely on the other, but they will both find something neither of them thinks they need - love.
