Author Information

Karen Mrquez Morales was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She was a second grade bilingual teacher for thirty years. She then fulfilled another lifelong dream of becoming a children's author. The award-winning Krayon Kids and Pac-12 Tales are two of her recent books. She is a member of the Academy of American Poets.While teaching, she shared her love of nature with her students and they in turn showed her the enthusiasm, hope, and promise of protecting the environment.Karen, her husband Tom, her son Marcus, and dog Mulligan enjoy red rock hiking in Sedona and watching beautiful Arizona sunsets behind purple mountain peaks each evening just like the Krayon Kids did in the story.This book is written with the hope that future generations will care for our Earth and that our home will remain a place of precious, indescribable beauty.
