Overview

The war for the Meikai has begun. After his victory at Dawnridge, Dale Namire plans to amass his forces and attack the Desertlands, hoping to take Will Gallien's own home and shatter the Usurper's resolve. Dale enlists his sister, Fae, to negotiate an alliance with the recently-victorious rebels in the Yukiama Mountains. Political turmoil in this new government, however, may make this aid an impossibility. Across the continent, Gallien faces his own struggles, as he reckons with the fallout of a figure called the Prophet, who dooms his reign to fall. As armies clash and the kingdom burns, all must face the creeping inevitability that the only thing that will be left after this war is a dead land of sand and ash.
