God is a God of Promises! That's exciting to know! God has given us many great and precious promises and one of the greatest is the one found in John 8:36 If the son shall set you free you shall be free indeed. That's good news! We all need to be free. But the sad truth is that too many people aren't free. We see people who have come to a place of belief but they are controlled by destructive habits and emotions. They know that they are in some kind of bondage, but the more they try the more they find that it is impossible to be free under their own power. Let's think about emotional hurts for a moment; almost everyone has them. It's a rare person who hasn't experienced some kind of emotional hurt in their life. People have been hurt by loved ones, by strangers, by teachers, and even by church leaders. There isn't a single person alive who has not had some kind of hang up or bang up from our experiences in life. So many of us have found ourselves tore up from the floor up from emotional hurts. Those emotional hurts tend to leave behind emotional scar tissue that affects our lives. It affects the way we think; the way we speak; and the way we act. We end up being controlled by emotional impulses we can't understand or control. So the main objective of our study on the Keys of the Kingdom is to learn to Live in Faith and Freedom. Our desire will be to learn to live by FAITH, through loving God, and through God loving us! We want to learn to build our lives on a firm foundation of loving God and enjoying His love for us. When we build on this firm foundation, we can go on to learn to live a life based on Faith and full of Freedom, and this includes emotional freedom! We can learn to control our destructive emotions, through our faith, rather than having those emotions control us.
