While Cade is naturally cautious about chasing spacer myths, Lyra's infectious enthusiasm and the promise of discovery win him over. The Setting: The Void Beyond The journey takes them past the Outer Rim and the final fueling stations into a region of space known as The Silent Deep-a massive expanse of dead space where conventional sensors fail and the stars themselves seem to thin out. The destination is a massive, unstable spatial anomaly that requires precise calculations and absolute trust in their ship's AI to navigate.
