Overview

An award winning writer celebrates the oldest institution in the western world and the faith he shares with 60 million other Americans plus an estimated 1.2 billion Roman Catholics in the world. Mitch Finley opens the treasure chest of Catholic experience, picks out its jewels, and shines them to a new glow. """"Consider the possibility of joy,"""" he writes. """"What if your life is not pedestrian prose but a wonderful poem? What if your life is not a question but a revelation? Would this not be cause for joy? What if your life is not a sentence with a period at the end but a song that goes on and on? Would this not be cause for deep and abiding joy?""""

I enjoyed every word of [The Joy of Being Catholic]. I would read it again and again. --Amazon reader review I am a convert to the Catholic Church. . . . In 1980, I became a confirmed Catholic after going to Mass with my wife for fourteen years, and after much study and reflection on Catholic theology, spirituality, and traditions. In my journey to [Catholicism], I discovered Mitch Finley [and] I have . . . purchased a copy of virtually every book he has written. I consider him to be one of the finest Catholic writers of our generation. --Amazon reader review I was very blessed to have found this book and continue to receive peace, encouragement, and counsel from its . . . pages. Because Finley addresses the inevitable human nature quality of faith, I found hope and a stronger relationship to the [Catholic] Church with a deeper appreciation for [its] values and teachings. I have read parts aloud to both my ten-year-old son and my husband and they have been touched and comforted too by the borrowed quotes and explanations from Mitch Finley. It tells a message of compassion. A lovely book. --Thriftbooks reader review
