OverviewThe Journey is an introduction to the world of the New Testament, but not a typical introduction. These pages invite the reader to enter and learn about the New Testament through a seldom-used door: a story. With a sensitive to historical events and the cultural setting of the New Testament, this book re-creates by narrative exegesis a small slice of the Mediterranean world in the pivotal year of 68 CE. Although most of characters in this narrative never existed, their behaviours, characteristics, and attitudes did exist and were lived out in the everyday cultural traits of the first century. This book provides readers with the foundation for understanding the world that produced the New Testament and early Christianity.
