Overview

This is a journal of the steps the author took to successfully publish her books - for little to no money out of pocket. The Jazzalot Journal's ""Between the Books"" Series (both in blog and print formats) - is meant to be an informal 'journaling' of the processes learned through many hours researching on the internet and implementation over time. The general format provides each chapter with an 'overview' of some of the most important points, followed by example(s) of the actions the author took to create her own book-publishing company. The printed version also includes extra lined pages to be used as a 'workbook' for ease of documenting your own business decisions. Creating The Jazzalot Journal ""Between the Books"" series is provided as a way of 'Paying It Forward' - in gratitude to all those who share their information in similar ways.

Author Information

LaRae Schmitt, Writer and Illustrator for Jazzalot and Jazzalot Books, has entertained children since she was a child herself. As a young adult, she would amuse children of family/friends through creative storytelling and art geared towards their interest and abilities. Now, as an older adult, LaRae has similar opportunities of finding fun ways to delight children - with art, music, games, plays, make believe, reading books and planting seeds for 'budding' Indy Publishers.LaRae published ""The Garbage Truck Man!"" in 2023 and ""This Little House"" in 2024. For the next phase of books, LaRae has started a Blog called 'The Jazzalot Journal' with a 'Between the Books' Series, that will also be made available in print format for a more hands-on approach. As a way to 'Pay it Forward' LaRae is sharing information she has learned - so that others may easily take advantage of the many low to zero cost tools and processes that open the floodgates to achievement for Independent Creators. Additionally, LaRae is co-authoring a surprise children's book with her two nieces. Watch for more about this soon!
