OverviewThe J-matrix is an algebraic method of quantum scattering with substantial success in atomic and nuclear physics. The accuracy and convergence property of the method compares favorably with other successful scattering calculation methods. Although introduced thirty years ago, the J-matrix method has witnessed a resurgence of interest in the last few years. This volume gives a brief account of recent developments and some selected applications of the method in atomic and nuclear physics. It contains an edited collection of new and original contributions of 24 prominent researchers from different parts of the World. The book is compiled of 14 chapters that are grouped into 5 sections. Each chapter is written as an independent article by one or more authors. The volume starts with a Foreword by the two co-founders of the method, E.J. Heller and H.A. Yamani, who are also co-editors of the volume.
