The Island in Time

Overview

A window into the ancient heart of Western Australia. In this children's picture book, Noah's journey begins on a mystical version of his own island, but it ends in a world long forgotten by time. Through the ""mists of time,"" Noah is transported to ancient Whadjuk Country, where he is welcomed by Yellagonga and the Mooro people. The Island in Time takes readers on a mystical voyage to ancient Whadjuk Boodja (Country). From the guidance of a magical talking tree to a life-changing encounter with the legendary leader Yellagonga, Noah's journey is a beautiful celebration of connection, country, and the stories that live in the land beneath our feet. Combining magical realism with rich historical heritage, The Island in Time is a vital classroom resource and a stunning family read. It offers a unique opportunity for children to learn about First Nations leadership, ancestral wisdom, and the deep history of the Swan River region.
