OverviewIn the year 2290, Corporate City (formerly Sydney, Australia) is isolated from the rest of the world, years after an earlier nuclear war. Citizens are allocated 100 1.Q. points at birth. When they turn sixteen they can make a choice either to remain as 100s and be cared for by the state, or they can gamble with their intelligence. Those who succeed become high I.Q.s and enjoy all of the benefits this brings; those who fail lead squalid lives and some eventually become I.Q. 30 glidiots, battling in the Glidiot Games in a pop-up maze where they kill one another for I.Q. points and for public amusement. The city is controlled by a ruthless 1000 I.Q. dictator who has invented a potent serum to tighten his control over the city. The dictator seeks domination with ruthless efficiency. Many die under his tyranny. He seems invincible and is only opposed by a small group of scientists who seek to dethrone him. His plans extend beyond the shores of the Great Southern Continent and do not include peaceful co-existence with other world cities. With a touch of James Bond he launches a military satellite in his quest for world domination. He calls world leaders to a meeting and offers them I.Q. power and control beyond their wildest imaginings. He is a megalomaniac whose hatred and vindictiveness is vicious and boundless. Some sections are written in screenplay format because this novel is to be imagined as a blockbuster movie.
