In addition, she is the editor-in-chief of the Directory of Scholarly Electronic Conferences and the Electronic Journal on Virtual Culture and the co-moderator of Libref-L (Discussion of Library Reference Issues) and GovDoc-L (Discussion of Government Documents Issues). Kovacs writes and speaks frequently on Internet resources, and teaches many workshops on using Internet resources for research. She was the 1992 recipient of the Apple Corporation Library Internet Citizen Award. Kovacs holds a M.S. in Library and information Science from the University of Illinois and a M.Ed. in Instructional Technology from Kent State University.
