A scholar and professor of Sanskrit, Jolly translated two volumes of The Sacred Books of the East in addition to editing various Hindu law books. F. MAX MÜLLER (1823-1900) was a German author and orientalist who lived in England most of his life. As a professor at Oxford, he combined the studies of language, culture, and religion to create the discipline of comparative mythology.
