Audio Format

Overview

In The Innocent Killer, Michael Griesbach tells the story of one of the nation's most notorious wrongful convictions, that of Steven Avery, a Wisconsin man who spent eighteen years in prison for a crime he did not commit. But two years after he was exonerated of that crime and poised to reap millions in his wrongful conviction lawsuit, Steven Avery was arrested for the exceptionally brutal murder of Teresa Halbach, a freelance photographer who had gone missing several days earlier. The ""innocent man"" had turned into a cold-blooded killer. Or had he?

Author Information

Michael Griesbach is a prosecuting attorney in the Wisconsin county where the events recounted in The Innocent Killer occurred. He wrote this book to challenge the system, to find out if we still believe in the long-cherished principle of American jurisprudence: ""It's better to let one hundred guilty persons go free than it is to convict one who is innocent."" Michael hopes to leave readers better informed about the inner workings of the criminal justice system and more concerned about those whose lives it deeply affects. He lives in Wisconsin with his wife, Jody, and their four children. Johnny Heller, a Golden Voice Lifetime Achievement Award winner, has recorded over 800 audiobooks spanning every genre. He is a four-time Audie Award winner; an AudioFile Best Voice, Booklist Editor's Choice List, and Publishers Weekly Listen Up Award winner; and the winner of over thirty Earphones Awards. His national and international audiobook coaching workshops are called ""game changing"" by attendees. AudioFile magazine named him one of the top fifty voices of the twentieth century.
