OverviewOur words may influence us more than we can imagine. Yet, to have the best words to use is surely not an easy task. We may in fact have to invent them. This author believes that Nature may offer Mankind many benefits, including to our words. In this book is a brief coverage of a great many people who have found Nature, or aloneness, quite useful. We may remember, by the way, the words of Blaise Pascal: ""All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone."" Now, if Nature is not a room that is quiet, what is? Mentioned are people who have sought aloneness, typically in Nature, such as Henry David Thoreau, Tenzin Palmo, The Desert Fathers, Thomas Merton, Rachel Carson, Sequoyah, Abraham Lincoln, Ramanujan, Ellen White, and others. The author has spent an immense amount of time in Nature. After Kindergarten, for instance, had a year off before first grade, and spent this time in the woods of North Carolina. Later, he hiked with the Sierra Club in California. This book may well appeal to those seeking more peace in their lives. More connection, less anger, and less fear.
