Abdominal tuberculosis has remained for decades one of the most difficult forms of extrapulmonary tuberculosis to diagnose. The variety of clinical manifestations, the similarity of symptoms to a wide spectrum of surgical, oncological, and infectious diseases, as well as the often hidden or torpid course, lead to a significant delay in the final diagnosis. Under these conditions, laparoscopy occupies a key place among modern high-information research methods, allowing for a significant increase in the accuracy of abdominal tuberculosis diagnosis. This monograph examines in detail the role of laparoscopy as a complex diagnostic tool that combines visual assessment of the abdominal organs, the possibility of direct detection of tuberculous lesions, and the collection of biopsy material for morphological and microbiological verification of the diagnosis.
