Overview

The Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) was the third most powerful navy in the world at the start of World War II, and came to dominate the Pacific in the early months of the war. Joe Barrett, an actor and Audie Award and Earphones Award-winning narrator, has appeared both on and off Broadway as well as in hundreds of radio and television commercials. Mark E. Stille (Commander, United States Navy, retired) received his BA in history from the University of Maryland and also holds an MA from the Naval War College. He has worked in the intelligence community for thirty years, including tours on the faculty of the Naval War College, on the Joint Staff, and on U.S. Navy ships. He is currently a senior analyst working in the Washington, D.C. area. He is the author of numerous titles focusing on naval history in the Pacific.
