Reviews

""A lovely, lovely book with a wonderful style. It is reminiscent of the bird artists of yesteryear--Audubon and Gould.""--Amy Tan, author of The Backyard Bird Chronicles ""This book explores species, both familiar and less so, to ignite a love of birds in budding naturalists and reignite the wonder of birds in seasoned birdwatchers... The watercolor illustrations are beautiful and add a sense of wonder to the book, evoking the beauty of illuminated medieval manuscripts.""--Library Journal

""Opening this book is an experience akin to hearing the dawn chorus: a moment of sweet and unalloyed delight--the riot of glorious color the precision, the meticulous attention to every avian detail. The dawn chorus may end with each sunrise: this book will long endure. It is a treasure for the ages.""--Simon Winchester ""A lovely, lovely book with a wonderful style.
