Author Information

The author has a masters in horticulture and specializes in indoor aquaponics and organic gardening outdoors. He started growing organically after becoming aware of the dangers of pesticides and herbicides which are applied to most commercially available foods. Bob makes his own compost and compost teas for soil improvement and follows Elaine Ingham's work on soil improvement by using natural bacteria and fungi to improve soil structure through thermophile composting and the application of compost tea's to turn dirt into living soil! He and his wife live on a small farm in NE Ohio and set up a shop on their farm were Bob runs an aquaponic system and teaches a basic aquaponic & horticulture seminar. Joan sells her art in a gallery they set up in the same building as the aquaponics. A unique quaint little place were you can learn about organic gardening and aquaponics or take a stroll through a country art gallery and buy a gift to take home. They also sell their organic vegetables during the summer months when available.
