Po as rhyming with 'low', Gon as rhyming with 'John'. The Hunk of Pogon came to Britain from overseas, of origin undefined. He lives 'on the hill, far over beyond' and has, as valet, drudge and cook the Goon, a bald simpleton (who is nonetheless quick witted and useful in times of crisis). The Hunk is a large animal. The Goon is a physically small and ungainly man. Illustrations by Nigerian artist: Enobong Joseph Effiong. N.B. For the best results the text should be read aloud. Each book has one deliberate spelling error. Can you spot it (never at the end of a line) ?
