OverviewThe Hardrock Hundred is widely accused of being one of-if not the-most difficult mountain trail footraces in North America, if not the whole world. It's like climbing Mount Everest, up and down, and doing it within 48 hours. This humorously humongous how-to book wants to tell you how to run the race, of course, but there's more. First of all, it's a story not only of one runner's struggles with running this monstrosity himself, but also in dealing with all of life's gigantic (and little) challenges that are part of the deal. Then too, this is a thinking person's adventure, and the runner in question thinks that thinking and learning-how-to are two of the most basic skills needed to finish this-both the race and the book. Just as in life itself, many characters are encountered along the way. There are some good ones and some damn good ones, but there're also a few real doozies. This story won't help you deal with your doozies, but it should help you better appreciate your damn good ones; because they're the ones that will help you achieve your own humongous goals-both in finishing this book and in fulfilling your life, before it's finished. To the left, then, is one such doozy. He's identified within.
