Overview

Art teacher Radha lives in an 18th century house of stone with her cousins, Veena and Lata, and her eternally critical mother, Swati. Though it's full of charm with its statues and garden full of roses, it harbors a dark secret: the house eats the souls of anyone it deems unworthy. To satisfy the house's appetite, Radha and her friends invite criminals who evade laws. Without enough souls, the house crumbles piece by piece. When their house starts crumbling after a lack of souls, Radha runs into Andrew, a marine biologist trying to make a new life. As they spend time with each other, she grows more attracted to him. Unfortunately, the house deems his soul worthy to eat upon learning a dark secret about him: he didn't pay for a crime he committed forty years ago. Now Radha must decide on the right thing to do; give up the man she's fallen for or let the house crumble to dust. With her family secrets and love life on the line, Radha knows she'll lose something. But will it be her home or her lover? As time ticks down, she has to make up her mind before everything falls apart.

Cithara Susan Patra has been writing for a very long time, dabbling in all kinds of work over the years. Having a degree in Spanish and French (as well as one in Business Management), they've spent a lot of their normal life being very busy learning new things. They've written for multiple zines over the year as well as writing novels in between taking care of their rambunctious child and working for the health department in North Carolina. They've also written plenty of poetry and short stories over the years. When not writing, they are busy taking care of their family, trying to cook new meals, traveling to interesting places, or trying to perfect their French and Spanish speaking skills.
