Overview

Has the Christian church been infiltrated by unholy spirits masquerading as the Holy Spirit? That is the question being asked by the author and answered by the research undertaken for this book. Definitions on what constitutes spirituality are being rewritten not just in the world in general but more frighteningly for the Christian in the church. Chapter Eight deals with some of the possible reasons for the paradigm shift in spiritual perceptions and the revising of definitions of spirituality in societies of the world in general, continuing in Chapter Nine with the impact this has had on how the Pentecostal, Charismatic and Neo-Pentecostal communities today view spiritual matters. The ancient magical arts and practices i.e. divination, sorcery, spiritism, necromancy, shamanism and witchcraft are easily identifiable in Pentecostal, Charismatic and Neo-Pentecostal churches for those who care to look objectively. This book examines Scriptural cases of magic and also miracles i.e. act of God both in the Old and New Testaments in an effort to compare and answer the question is it possible to mistake the work of another spirit for the work of The Holy Spirit? It also deals with the question of how people claiming to be God's people, committed Christians could have become involved with pagan magic, looking at Scriptural instances from Israel in the Old Testament to the churches in the New Testament in an attempt to gain further understanding of how
