OverviewJohn Brownlee is an internationally recognized therapist who has counseled individuals and couples from moderately to severely dysfunctional families for over forty years. His scope of experience encompasses counseling in private practice, churches, corporate executives, nonprofit organizations, and even a maximum-security prison. For over twenty-five years, he trained social workers who worked with abused and neglected children in Toronto, Canada. He was the cofounder of a suicide and distress center in Toronto. Brownlee has also taught counseling, family dynamics, and sociology at the college level. John earned a BA in Theology and Social Studies from Milligan College, an MA in Counseling and Sociology from Ball State University, and completed additional studies at the University of Guelph, in Guelph, Canada. Since 1970, John has been a Clinical Member of American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. He is presently a board member for the Tennessee Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
